Ready to step out of your comfort zone? Try Obstacle Course Racing ! Events such as Spartan Race, Tough Mudder are gaining huge interest in Australia and have been around the world for the last few years. These races include running, jumping, climbing, crawling, swimming and balancing elements. There's plenty of mud too, so don't expect to finish clean. Sound like fun? Well it is! Especially when you go with a few mates. In Tasmania there are a few OCRs including The Burnie Challenge, Tas Mud Run (New in 2013) and Raw Challenge (New in 2013). The OCR Calendar runs from April to March each year and there is practically a race every weekend around Australia.

TAZFIT is Tasmania's premier Obstacle Race Training group who provides regular training & conducts road trips (most weekends) so you can perform better in these sorts of races. Experienced Trainer - Dan aka Dragon, is an elite track & field athlete, Ex-Military, and has 25+ years in multi-disciplinary training. Dragon's OCR Experience:

2014 1st & only Tasmanian to obtain podium finish 2nd place Spartan Race. The coveted Spartan block trophy!
2014 1st & only Tasmanian to qualify for the OCR World Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio. 26th place in the World Elite Class (100% obstacle completion). This competition has a 56% fail rate overall.

TEAM TAZFIT completed Australia's first Spartan Race in Melbourne! It was an awesome experience and all members enjoyed the event with a sense of achievement and success by receiving their Spartan Medallion. With four race distances, from the 7k Sprint to the 42K Ultra-Beast, Spartan Race is the word's most exciting and challenging obstacle race series.You'll climb rope, avoid barbed wire,drag a concrete block and throw spears.
